What Kind of Vegetables and Fruits Can You Grow From a Container?
I asked this question once on here but that was at 2am and wanted to ask again and see what kind of answers I got this time.
I currently rent a house in Kentucky (zone 6) and was looking to start growing vegetables and fruits in pots on my patio and was wondering what kind of produce grows good in pots?

Planting in pots are so ideal for a lot of gardiner. It’s easy to control and improve. In zone 6 you have a lot of choices. Cherries, berries, oranges, apples, plum, currants and so on, you can plant on your pots. I haven’t done it myself because all my plants are on the ground but I’ve seen it so many times from other gardiner and books. Vegetables are so easy to grow on pots too. Any of your favorite veggies can be planted on pots. You can even mixed them up. Say for example a lettuce and a string beans. Put the beans behind, since it climb up anyway (just a simple trellis, sticks or tree branch will do), then the lettuce in front. You can also plant strawberries. Almost all produce can grow on pots. Don’t hesitate to experiment that’s how you learn.
The beauty of pot gardening is you can position them anywhere you want them or depending on their requirements. Sun loving plants goes to the most sunny spot while shade loving one will stay on the shade. And if you have visitors you can put them where you want them to give the most attraction. After your party they can go back to their own places. I hope I answer your question and good luck.
At your local library, check out the book Square Foot Gardening. Lots of great info.
Actually most any veggie will do great in a pot…Tomatoes, lettuce, squash, okra, beans, peas. Strawberries are excellent for growing in pots/hanging baskets also. Good luck and have fun!
