What Are Most Colorful Low Maintence Perennials for Landscaping With?
We recently moved to a new home and there is really no landscaping here now. Live in zone 6 and want to put in some perennials that I don’t constantly have to trim and maintain a whole lot? But think some of the darker colors are just horrible looking.. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!

Astilbe come in red, pink, light purple, white and apricot and do well in shade to partial sun. All types of lilies, oriental, orienpet and trumpet are the most fragrant. Sedum, ‘Autumn Joy’ is nice, flower heads start out green, go to light pink and darken over time to a nice Burgundy in Autumn. Rhododendren (light purple, magenta, yellow, white),azaleas (pink, white, red, yellow and orange) and hydrangea (pink and blue, the intensity of the blue depends on the amount of iron in the soil) make good foundation plants, Hostas are great for shade the flowers are white or light purple and the leaves come in a variety of greens and some are variegated, and lily-of-the-valley for low growing plants in shady areas. All of th aforementioned plants are perrenials, so you only have to plant them once. Enter any of the plant names on line to search and find out what they look like and what the growth tendencies are.
