Help, I Am Growing Aster Flowers for the First Time.?

I have grown them from seed and have 2 plants in each large pot. They are growing like crazy, with twigs hanging over the side of the pot and are all ready looking out of control. Any tips please, do i need to stake them, do i need to trim them even though they are a few inches high. Thanks.
