Growing Plants and Flowers in Shady Area?
I was wanting to do some landscaping in my back yard. The area I was wanting to use is nothing but complete shade from morning to night . I mean it, NO SUNLIGHT hits this area. Any suggestions on what I could put there (plants or flowers) that would do well in this type of area?

Ferns would do well there. Try Ostrich Ferns. They will reach about 5 feet in height assuming the growing conditions are right.
You can also try hostas. There are a variety of species or cultivars to choose from. However if you use hostas go with the ones that have totally green leaves with no varigation as they will fare better in total shade.
I also included a site that lists ALOT of plants for deep shade and one showing the ostrich fern.
Good Luck!
hosta, columbine.
There are many shade loving plants that can withstand no sunlight. Impatients, Hostas, ferns, cyclamen, many indoor plants, Gold Dust plant (acuba japonica) and more.
Goodluck

Astilbe. ferns and hosta would do well. It’s funny though…most websites say that they prefer full shade and I have both thriving in part sun…go figure!
Hostas do very well in the shade and there are a lot of different types.
We can compare the heart\’s good cheer to a floral offering. A bright bouquet can change the flow of the rest of the day. Flowers are appropriate gifts to persons of all ages and in any conceivable circumstance. So the heart\’s good cheer and deeds of kindness are always acceptable to children and youth, to busy men and women, to the aged, and to a world of invalids.
