You can grow cherry tomatoes, herbs bush beans, in containers, any hardware or Walmart store has the seeds, pots, and soil
Not easy to do because they need a lot of sun and fruits take a couple of years, if not more, to develop. You would be better off to hang window boxes on the sunny side of the house if you have to garden from inside your house and concentrate on vegetables, especially herbs, root (carrots, turnups, radishes, etc.) and leafy (spinach, lettuce, kale, etc.) vegies which stay within bounds. If you work hard or have a patio that will hold containers with more depth you can go for tomates and peppers by focusing on breeds that don’t sprawl all over the place. Fruits grown on trees or on long stemmed vines (berries) and take 2-3 years before production and take a lot of space.
Supplies should be available at any grocery store, but if you find a local (as opposed to a chain brand) nursery, you will probably be able to get good advice on low growing species.
You could grow strawberries or cucumbers they are easy to grow and they leave you with some great food to eat !!! I got my strawberry plant 5 years ago and still have it now thats the great thing they last forever !! I eventually put it in the back garden though because it allowed it to grow bigger and give better results!! Also tomatoes are easy to grow at home. I have also been growing them and they grow very quickly and in batches too enough for the family anyway !!
You can get all of these in a garden centre local to you they will sell them already potted so all you have to do is plant them or put them into another plant pot. They are fairly easy to maintain depending when and where you have them if they are in the sun in the summer you need to water them 2 times a day but usually just give them a water in the everning when the sun has gone down (it is better for the plants) if they are outside at this time of yr then once a day is fine. Also id you have them indoors make sure the room isnt too warm as it will kill them.
Also if you are having trouble growing them to begin with put some baby bio on them (plant feed) and they will grow really well !!!
good luck and get growing I hope this helps !!
The link below has lots of supplies for container gardening. The trick is to get the plants enough light. You’ll want to stick with something that you can harvest quickly and replant, or that produces a harvest over a long period of time. Fruits usually aren’t worth it, because you’ll have to hand pollinate to get anything to harvest, and you have to baby them for a long time to get a small harvest. Ditto for anything else that needs pollination to produce a crop. Even tomatoes can be a bother because of the need to pollinate the flowers. Herbs and greens are a lot easier, they’ll produce better if you don’t let them bloom.
